Kiev could have kept Crimea and avoided the Donbass conflict, says Ukrainian politician
A Ukrainian politician tells how Kiev could have avoided the loss of Crimea and the Donbass conflict.
According to him, if the country had stayed neutral, the Crimea and Donbass problems could have been avoided.
Andrey Nikolayenko, leader of Ukrainian political party "Osnova", has told Ukrainian mass media how Kiev could have kept Crimea and avoided the Donbass conflict.
According to him, if Ukraine had kept the neutral status, Как отметил украинский политик в эфире украинских СМИ, если бы Украина находилась в нейтральном статусе, the loss of Crimea and the Donbass conflict could have been avoided. He remarked that, back in 1990, before the collapse of Soviet Union, the Supreme Councel of Ukrainian Republic adopted the declaration of independence, which was supported by 94% residents of Ukraine.
The polititian mentioned that, if Ukrainian authorities had acted in accordance with the will of its citizens, instead of manipulating the Ukrainians between Moscow and washington, now many problems could be avoided, including the loss of Crimea and the conflict in Donbass.
